Bombay Sapphire Sunset – Special Edition Review

Bombay Sapphire Sunset – Special Edition Review

  • Name:Bombay Sapphire Sunset – Special edition (Mostly Available Duty Free)
  • Price:$35 for 750ML Bottle at DutyFree
  • TypeGin
  • Verdict:Neutral

Product Description:

Bombay Sapphire Sunset is a premium gin crafted by Bombay Sapphire, known for its distinctive blue bottle. Sunset is a limited-edition release that combines the signature botanicals of Bombay Sapphire with two additional botanicals: The gin is also infused with white cardamom, turmeric, and sun-dried mandarin. These new ingredients are meant to evoke the vibrant colors and flavors of a sunset in India.

The gin is described as having a warm, rich flavor profile with notes of ripe berries, floral accents, and a spicy finish from the turmeric and cardamom. It's recommended to be enjoyed in cocktails that highlight its unique flavors, such as a Sunset G&T or a Sunset Martini.

Review

I think it really depends on your preference. Bombay Sapphire Sunset has a strong fragrance and robust flavors. If you are wondering whether it tastes the same when mixed with tonic, then no. I found it harder to define the taste because it includes golden turmeric, Indian white cardamom, and Spanish mandarin, which create a spicier feel. When drinking it straight, I noticed the warmth and spices it offers. When mixed with tonic, it gives the drink a twist, with a slightly stronger flavor than the original Bombay Sapphire. The aroma is pleasant. In the end, I prefer the original Gin and Tonic. For now, I will keep my review as neutral until I try the other cocktail suggestions.

Verdict:

Neutral
