New Jersey Desi Areas And Markets - NJ

by madhuri yadav 31 December, 2023 0 Comment 293 Views

Desi in New Jersey are spread out throughout the state. NJ is home to the highest number of Desi along with NYC.

Choosing where to live is often influenced by your workplace location. For those employed in New York City (NYC), living in the city can be expensive, largely due to high taxes. Residents in NYC face a combined city tax of 3.5% and a state tax of 7%, resulting in an additional 10.5% in income taxes. In contrast, areas outside NYC in New York State have a slightly lower tax rate of about 7%. New Jersey, however, is a more affordable option with a state income tax rate of just 5%.

Additionally, keep in mind that utility bills in NYC often come with extra taxes, further adding to the cost of living.

Transportation costs also play a big role in choosing where to settle. Northern New Jersey is an attractive option for commuters, offering budget-friendly access via the PATH and light rail systems. Central New Jersey, while slightly costlier with NJ Transit, remains a more economical choice compared to the Long Island Railroad (LIRR) or Metro-North trains connecting to New York State.

Although NYC’s subway system is inexpensive, it has faced growing safety concerns. By contrast, New Jersey's trains are known for being cleaner and offering a more comfortable travel experience. Balancing these factors can help you find the ideal location for your needs.
