Albany:

• Indian and Pakistani Grocery Store: A popular spot for spices, snacks, and staples.
• Patel Brothers: Located in nearby Schenectady, offers a wide range of Indian groceries, including fresh produce and frozen goods.

 

Temple

• Hindu Temple Society of the Capital District: A vibrant community center and temple that provides regular worship services and hosts cultural events.

 

Gurdwaras

• Guru Nanak Sikh Center of the Capital District: A welcoming gurdwara offering regular prayers and community meals (Langar).

 

Mosques

• Islamic Center of the Capital District: A central hub for the Muslim community, offering prayers, educational classes, and various events.

 

Transportation

The majority of commuters travel by car, while Albany offers local bus services. However, its transportation options are not comparable to those of other major cities. Train services primarily serve intercity connections, with access to Metro North and Amtrak. Among the two, Metro North is the more affordable option, but it is only available in certain areas of upstate New York.

Info: There are laundry facilities located in the bottom of the building with washers and dryers inside. They are about $1.25 - $2 a load per machine. The minimum lease term is one year and if you need to break it you can either sublet the apartment or liable to re-rent. The liable to re-rent is when you move out of the apartment and hand in your keys to us and we re-rent the apartment for you, but you have to still pay the rent until we can re-rent it. – Always verify with leasing office.
